Pesticide spraying in plane

The air attendants are spraying pesticide before landing to Kuala Lumpur. They said the pesticide is approved by UN (to human or animals? not sure). Also they ask passengers wearing contact glasses to close eyes to prevent discomfort. First time to come across such practice.
